Moving your shop to BoutiqVerse

Move your shop from Shopify, WooCommerce or IdoSell: products with photos and variants, prices, stock and your old addresses. Your current shop keeps running, and stock and prices update by themselves every hour.

The move in four steps

You do it all in the panel: Products → Import from my shop. No product reaches BoutiqVerse before you have seen the preview.

Enter your shop's address
Type in the address of your home page. We recognise whether the shop runs on Shopify, WooCommerce or IdoSell.
Confirm the shop is yours
Shopify and WooCommerce: you paste your verification code on the home page. IdoSell: you enter a read-only API key, which only the shop's administrator can generate.
Look at the preview
You see how many products we will move, how many are sold out, how many fit in your plan and what sample products look like.
Import and switch on sales
Products arrive in the panel hidden. You check them, fill in what is missing and switch on sales – one by one or in bulk.

Why the confirmation? An online shop's photos and descriptions are public. Without proof that the shop is yours, anyone could list someone else's goods here.

Shopify

Confirmation: a verification code on your home page

In the BoutiqVerse panel open Products → Import from my shop and enter the shop's address. You get your verification code.
In your Shopify admin open Online Store → Themes.
Next to the live theme click “…” → Edit code.
Open layout/theme.liquid and paste the tag inside the head section (right after it opens).
Save the changes to the theme.
In the BoutiqVerse panel confirm the shop, look at the preview and import the products.

Good to know

Instead of the tag you can paste just the code anywhere on your home page, for example in the footer. Leave it there after verification.
Shopify only says publicly whether a size is available. An available size has at least 1 piece here (you can correct the number when editing the product); an unavailable one has 0.
In Shopify we do not reduce the stock automatically yet – after a sale on BoutiqVerse, reduce it in Shopify.

WooCommerce

Confirmation: a verification code on your home page

In the BoutiqVerse panel open Products → Import from my shop and enter the shop's address. You get your verification code.
In WordPress add the tag to the page head section – the easiest way is a code snippet plugin (e.g. WPCode → Header) or the theme header.php file.
Save and clear the cache if you use a caching plugin.
In the BoutiqVerse panel confirm the shop, look at the preview and import the products.

Good to know

When the shop tracks stock, we move the number of pieces. Customer reviews move together with the products.
For a sale here to reduce the stock in your shop, add a REST API key with Read/Write permissions in the panel (WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API).

IdoSell

Confirmation: a read-only API key

In the BoutiqVerse panel open Products → Import from my shop and enter the shop's address.
In the IdoSell panel open SETTINGS → Access (you need Boss permissions).
Add a new key: choose "API key" as the method and enter a name, e.g. BoutiqVerse.
In the permissions set the PIM gateway to "read only" and the other gateways to "no access".
Save the key, click “Show active keys” and copy the API key.
In the BoutiqVerse panel paste the key, look at the preview and import the products.

Good to know

We store the key encrypted and use it only to read your products. When you disconnect the shop, the key is deleted.
We take the number of pieces from your own IdoSell warehouse, without goods held in supplier warehouses.
Colours from one IdoSell group become one product with variants here. We also move reviews, size charts and manufacturer data.
For a sale here to reduce the stock in your shop, give the key write access to products or paste a new key with that access in the panel.

CSV file

Confirmation: not needed – you upload the file in your own panel

In the BoutiqVerse panel open Products and choose Import CSV.
The first row holds the headers: name, price, category, brand, description, stock, gender. The order does not matter, and other columns are ignored.
A file from a Polish Excel – with semicolons and a decimal comma – works too.

Good to know

The file carries no photos, so products arrive in the panel hidden. Add photos and switch on sales.
The update-by-SKU mode creates nothing – it only changes the stock and prices of sizes, for example from a warehouse spreadsheet.

Your shop is safe

The import only reads: we change or delete nothing in your current shop. We change stock in your shop only after stock write-back is switched on in the panel.
Moved products wait hidden until you have checked them and switched on sales.
Importing again duplicates nothing and does not overwrite your edits – for a product we already know it changes only stock and price.
A size chart or “About us” page you already have on BoutiqVerse is never overwritten.
We keep the API key encrypted, the panel shows only its last four characters, and we delete the key when you disconnect the shop.
If you ever want to leave, you download the whole catalogue in Shopify, WooCommerce or IdoSell import format.

After the move: two shops, one stock

You do not have to close your current shop. You can sell in both places at once.

Every hour: from your shop to us

We fetch stock and prices. A price you changed by hand on BoutiqVerse stays until it changes in your shop. A product that disappeared from your shop becomes unavailable here – we do not delete it. You switch the sync off with one toggle.

Right away: from BoutiqVerse to your shop

Once switched on in the panel, a sale here reduces the stock in your IdoSell or WooCommerce shop, usually within seconds, and a cancellation or return puts it back. When your shop does not answer, we try again. We do not do this in Shopify yet.

At checkout: the piece is reserved

With stock write-back on, the piece comes off the stock in your shop before we accept the order here.

IdoSell confirms every item taken off: if the last item sells in your shop at the same moment, we do not accept the order here.
WooCommerce cannot take an item off in one step, so if someone buys the last item in your shop and here in the same fraction of a second, it can sell twice.
While your shop does not respond, we do not accept orders for its products here.

What we do not move – and why

A few things we leave behind on purpose – because of the law, or so as not to mislead customers.

Customer accounts and newsletter consentsCustomers gave them to your shop, not to us (GDPR). Tell them about the move in the last newsletter from your old shop.
Order historyIt stays in your current shop and in your accounts.
Strikethrough pricesWe move the price the customer pays. We show a reduction only when BoutiqVerse price history confirms it (Omnibus directive).
Sold-out productsThey take up no room in your plan, and their old addresses lead to their category. When a product is back in stock, the sync shows it as new in your shop.

Old addresses and Google

The import saves your current shop's addresses – from the catalogue and from the sitemap – and matches each one with a new page: a product, a category or an information page. In the panel you can download the redirect map (CSV file: old address, new address, 301) and upload it wherever your domain stays, e.g. in Cloudflare. Once own domains start on BoutiqVerse (marked “soon” in the pricing), old addresses under your domain will redirect by themselves.

Limits

The actual numbers worth knowing before moving a large shop.

Shop catalogue: 30,000 productsThat is how much we read from one shop. A larger catalogue is flagged in the import summary.
One import run: 1000 new productsRun the import again to move the next ones – we will not duplicate those already moved.
Photos: 8 per productWe store them ourselves, without EXIF data.
Variants: 60 per productThe sizes and colours of one product.
Currency: PLNA product in another currency is skipped and listed in the import summary.
Products on sale: By planHow many products can be on sale at the same time depends on your plan. Sold-out ones take up no room.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to close my current shop?

No. The import only reads data, and after the move you can sell in both places: stock and prices from your shop reach us every hour, and with IdoSell and WooCommerce a sale here can reduce your stock right away – just switch it on in the panel.

Will customers see the products right after the import?

No. Products wait in the panel hidden. You switch on sales once a product has its manufacturer data and – for clothing – its composition. From IdoSell this data arrives with the product.

What if the import stops halfway?

Run it again. Products already moved are recognised, so nothing is duplicated.

My shop has several thousand products. Will it work?

Yes. We read up to 30,000 products. One import run moves up to 1000 new ones – run it again to move the next ones, and those already moved are not duplicated. How many products can be on sale at the same time depends on your plan.

Will moved reviews be marked as confirmed purchases?

No. Next to the review we show the shop it comes from, and it does not get the “Confirmed purchase” badge – the Omnibus directive requires that. We sign the author with a first name and the first letter of the surname, and never show a login or e-mail address.

Can I have different prices on BoutiqVerse than in my old shop?

Yes. The sync leaves a price you changed in the panel until it changes in your shop. A product on sale on BoutiqVerse keeps its price.

My shop runs on another platform.

Can I move out later?

Yes. In the panel – Products → Move to another shop – you download the whole catalogue in Shopify, WooCommerce or IdoSell import format.
